Symphony on the Green

Actually, the symphony was canceled because of rain but that didn't stop us. Rain water makes your hair shiny.

We had a rendezvous with our rockstar friends Will and Amber at the Austin Long Center and feasted upon cold meats, cherries and gummi bears while Ruby and Jesse raced barefoot with the ahem! fancier children. You know the ones I'm talking about. They don't have rub-on tattoos, rainbow hair, or black nutella teeth. They tote things like fedora hats and tiny designer backpacks while my little ragamuffins clutch dirty rags and fistfuls of sticky sandwiches. Ha! That's the way I like it.

I am sorry to say we don't take near enough advantage of all the events with which this hot green city provides us, we get caught up in our little world and stick safely to our neighborhood, favorite bookstore, thrift store, noodle place. Fools we! Free live concerts in a beautiful park overlooking downtown every Sunday? Amazing. An art carnival Wednesday morning? Yes please!

Anyone interested in joining us for a sunset picnic with jazz and an outdoor disco floor? Hooray Austin.
