Thankfully, we've had rain this week to wash some of the dust out of our lives, but a few days ago it was one hundred and eight degrees. Again. Desperate times call for desperate water abuse, a.k.a. let's put the sprinkler under the trampoline!

Even Husband magically appeared wearing swimming trousers when I thought he was slaving away in the studio. (his window faces the back yard) I love a man who has his priorities straight.

Bouncy Picnic

As it turns out, a trampoline has many delightful uses: kitty basking area, comfy star gazing surface, palaver meeting place, sibling death match stage, and....bouncy picnic table.

Yep. We got one. It was bestowed upon us by Steve the engineer from a property of his down the block and he and Evan carried it up the street like so many cartoon firemen. We are shopping around for a kid friendly pad and netting but meanwhile Ruby is breaking it in under close supervision while Jesse looks on wistfully.

Too dangerous you say? When I was a kid they didn't even have seat belts in the backs of cars, let alone car seats that look like baby recliners, equipped with cup holders and mp3 players. Besides, it's much safer than that alligator pool I was looking at.
