Sew Amazing

I taught Ruby to sew the other day. She's four. Four-year-olds are like tiny people! When olympians are interviewed and asked the inevitable question "At what age did you start swimming/running/throwing metal balls?" Do you know what they always say? "Four."

I could get shipwrecked, eaten by tigers and my bones washed out to sea and Ruby could live in the jungle alone, eating papayas and wearing a loin cloth, NO PROBLEM. She's smart, she's strong, she's learning to read and now she can do the running stitch on a pre-packaged make-your-own-hello-kitty kit.

It feels like a lot of pressure, what kind of lessons should we start her on?? Dance? Soccer? Kung Fu? She has ready access to pianos, keyboards, guitars, drums, various mouth harps and ukuleles and an entire room full of art supplies. We sing, we dance, we books haha, we jump on the trampoline in our skivvies with the sprinkler underneath. However, I wouldn't mind if she started cranking out paintings that sell for a cool $27,000 like this other four-year-old.

I'm so proud of this budding seamstress! We'll have to have a quilting retreat with Grambie, Ruby, Lily and Clara!
