Toys and Fish

Yesterday after plying Justin with homemade breakfast tacos and coffee, Jesse and I took him to the toy and fish stores while Ruby dreamed of mermaids and ice cream. Terra Toys is an amazing and vibrant specialty store that offers wooden toys, tin toys, science toys, gross toys, robots, books, puppets, and Jesus action figures (every home needs one). We happily pawed through marbles and plush disease molecules while Jesse methodically tasted their plastic menagerie. Justin forgot to "ask for assistance" when he test drove the Plasma Roller, giving some demure grandmas an eyeful of traditional thick Storms legs. We tried not to buy everything and escaped with a leather tiger key chain, some fancy marbles for Justin's collection and a tiny metal '57 Chevy for Jungleman's empty pocket. (he was so unhappy about the shark hat that he went cross eyed)

Then...epic fish tanks! God bless the fish scientists at Aquatek and their vast knowledge of all things wet. This place is just as fun as going to the zoo aquarium, but better because it's in my neighborhood and you can take the fish home with you. We chose a gold gourami (Goldie Han Solo) and Justin bought us a white balloon molly (Tammie). They acclimated to our pirate/dinosaur home tank without incident and Ruby approved.

Justin meets Club DeVille. He survived 6 hours of chain smokers, loud bands, drunken sorority girls and a line of strange handshakes. There was even a brawl, with a bloody head butting and a guy jumping the fence. Ambulances were called. He actually would like to recommend "Chase Frank" the band who had their cd release last night, a guitar heavy, female fronted rock band with a drummer who also plays keyboard. I only gave them beers and saw their mouths moving through the window. He stuck it out through last call, counted a mound of soggy $1 bills, and scored dance floor abandoned $20(shift pay!)
